Society by Evo: Artful Cuisine in a Vibrant Setting

Tempe, Ariz. - Self-taught chef Dylan Shortridge brings his artistic vision to life at Society by Evo in Tempe. Shortridge's philosophy of "the art behind the food" is evident in both the menu and the restaurant's stylish ambiance.

Immersive Atmosphere:

Stepping into Society by Evo is an experience for the senses. The high-energy bar and restaurant features Italian-inspired cuisine in a captivating setting. Sultry lighting, floral garlands, moss walls, and floral murals create a visually stimulating atmosphere. Playfully named cocktails like the "Quicker Picker Upper," "Wendy Thomas," and "400 Bunnies" add a touch of whimsy to the experience.

Chef-Driven Menu:

Shortridge, who crafted the entire menu, is a testament to dedication and hard work. Growing up in Michigan with limited exposure to culinary culture, he was inspired by cooking shows, chefs, and cookbooks. His passion for food led him from dishwasher to chef de cuisine, and now to his current role as executive chef at Society by Evo.

Shared Passion:

Co-owner Anthony Scappaticci mirrors Shortridge's journey. Neuman describes Scappaticci as someone who "runs the show," having risen from barback at EVO Scottsdale to co-owner at Society by Evo.

Culinary Delights:

Standout dishes include the Seared Salmon, featuring a creamy garlic, shallot, and white wine sauce with dill, served over a bed of pea puree and accompanied by roasted fingerling potatoes and a wild mushroom and artichoke ragout. The restaurant's signature EVO meatballs with pomodoro, pecorino, and ciabatta are a must-try, as are the Bacon Wrapped Dates with a balanced balsamic reduction and goat cheese. The EVO Arancini with risotto, mozzarella, peas, and pomodoro were also a crowd-pleaser. A special grilled shrimp risotto offered that evening was another highlight.

Highly Recommended:

Society by Evo is a vibrant Tempe destination offering artful cuisine and a memorable dining experience.
